Travel fees

Mobile appointments include a travel fee based on location, distance, and appointment urgency. Travel fees are earned upon arrival and are non-refundable, even if the notarization cannot be completed.

Notarial fees

Notarial fees are charged separately in accordance with Virginia law and are only charged for notarizations actually performed. The maximum fee for a traditional paper notarial act in Virginia is $10 per notarized signature.

Appointment readiness & wait time

Please have all documents, required identification, signers, and any required witnesses ready at the scheduled appointment time. Your appointment includes up to 15 minutes of complimentary wait time. Additional waiting time may be subject to a waiting fee disclosed before the appointment.

Return visits

If the notarization cannot be completed and a return visit is requested, the return visit is considered a new appointment and a new travel fee will apply.

Bedside & facility appointments

For hospital, nursing home, assisted living, rehabilitation, and other bedside appointments, the signer must be willing and able to communicate with the notary. The notary cannot provide legal advice, determine which documents are needed, or advise clients regarding powers of attorney, medical directives, estate documents, or other legal matters.

Payment

Payment is due at the appointment. Cash is preferred. Electronic payment options are also available. Please have exact cash when paying in cash.
